Olbia. Today, 25 April 2024, on the occasion of the Anniversary of the Liberation, the Municipality of Olbia is preparing to celebrate with a solemn ceremony that will involve the entire community. The event, which includes a parade and the laying of floral wreaths at the War Memorial, requires specific road provisions to ensure the safety of participants and road users.
Ordinance No. 167 of 04/19/2024 regulates road traffic during the event, which will take place along some central streets of the city. Starting from 10:00 am on April 25ththe following provisions will be in force:
Via Regina Elena – at the intersection with via Ferracciu: it will be mandatory to turn left into via Ferracciu. Piazza Regina Margherita – intersection via Garibaldi: road traffic will be completely suspended in conjunction with the departure of the parade.
Via Regina Elena (specific sections): vehicular traffic will be completely suspended during the passage of the procession in the opposite direction to that currently established. This provision concerns the stretch between the intersection with via Roma (“La Croce” roundabout) and Piazza Regina Margherita, as well as the stretch between the intersection with via Roma (“La Croce” roundabout) and via Redipuglia.
Via Redipuglia: the stretch between via Bettino Craxi (formerly Piazza Crispi) and the intersection with via Carbonia will be completely closed to traffic during the passage of the procession and the celebration of the Holy Mass.
Via Redipuglia – intersection via Carbonia: it will be mandatory to turn left into via Carbonia for the vehicular current heading towards the city center. Via Nazzario Sauro – intersection via Firenze: it will be mandatory to turn right onto via Firenze.
These provisions are necessary to guarantee the smooth running of the ceremony and the safety of all participants. Citizens are therefore invited to respect the instructions and take the necessary precautions during the day of the event.
The celebration of the Liberation Anniversary is an important moment to remember the sacrifice and courage of those who fought for freedom. The Municipality of Olbia invites all citizens to actively participate in this commemoration, honoring the memory of the fallen and reaffirming the values of peace and solidarity which represent the foundation of society.
