PESCARA – “The Mostra del Fiore Florviva represents an important moment of opening for our companies which thus become known throughout the territory, a moment of awareness of ‘green’ and a great showcase for a sector that generates around 80 million euros per year. per year and employs between 4 and 5 thousand workers”.
Thus, at AbruzzoWeb, Guido Caravaggio, president of Assoflora, on the first day of the Florviva Flower Exhibition, scheduled from today to April 28th at the Marina di Pescara tourist port. The event, the longest running in the sector in Abruzzo, is promoted by Arfa, the regional association of Abruzzo horticultural industry, and Assoflora, the association of Abruzzo horticultural producers, in collaboration with the Chieti Pescara Chamber of Commerce.
The event, with free admission, will be open to the public from 10am to 8pm. The ribbon cutting will take place at 11.30am in the presence of the organizers and representatives of local institutions.
“Our companies, around 250 in total, are already projected towards the future and, in this sense, many of them have already started a generational change which pushes even further on the use of new technologies, aiming with considerable investments and preparation adequate for the growth and development of a particularly relevant sector for our region. Abruzzo, among other things, unlike other important districts at a national level where there are homogeneous productions, can count on a very varied offer of plant types”.
There will be over 150 exhibitors from 12 regions of Italy and companies from Germany, France and the Netherlands who will participate in the event, now in its 46th edition, which last year alone recorded more than 80 thousand visitors.
This year too there will be no shortage of exhibitions dedicated to some particularly popular species.
The first will be promoted for the third year in a row in collaboration with the Abruzzo section of the Triveneta Amatori Orchidee Association, represented in Abruzzo by Anna De Medio, which will display numerous varieties of orchids, some of which are very rare, cultivated by members from all over Italy.
Then there will be the exhibition of succulent plants, created thanks to the presence of the Italian Association of Succulent Plant Amateurs, Abruzzo, Molise and Marche section, which will allow visitors to admire these plants and discover their peculiarities thanks to the guidance of the section secretary, Domenico Rocchiand friends of the association.
Bonsai lovers, however, will be able to delight in the many varieties showcased thanks to the amateur exhibition dedicated to the fascinating miniature trees curated by Raffaello Pellicciotta of Pescara and Carmine Iezzi of Montesilvano.
Among the novelties of the 2024 edition there will be the “Giardini in Mostra” initiative, an installation in the central square of the Marina di Pescara created with the participation of 10 Abruzzo companies which will create the largest garden ever created in 46 editions of the Mostra del Florviva flower.
During the four days in Pescara, space will then be dedicated to local students thanks to the collaboration between the Mostra del Fiore Florviva and the European University of Design. The Ued, in fact, will exhibit the four projects developed as part of the national competition “Balconies for Rome” and selected for the Rome Green and Landscape Festival.
