The heavy snowfalls of the last few days, combined with the coldest temperatures, will allow ski enthusiasts to be able to spend April 25th on some of the slopes of Abetone and Val di Luce. An extraordinary opening after a difficult winter for skiers and stingy with heavy snowfall. Around 50 centimeters of snow fell on the resort during the week, with temperatures well below the seasonal average.
The facilities will open on April 25th
The extraordinary opening on April 25th was made possible thanks to the recent snowfalls, although there is no certainty for next weekend: “Tomorrow the Tre Potenze, Monte Gomito and Zeno 3 slopes will be open, with the related facilities – says Andrea Formento, national president of Federfuni – at the moment we cannot guarantee how many days they will remain open, whether for the entire weekend or not, so tomorrow’s opening is confirmed, but then decisions will be made day by day, in based on weather conditions and will be communicated gradually.” Even in the last few hours, there has been snowfall across the entire Tuscan Apennines, while the weather should slowly improve starting tomorrow, with the mercury still remaining low. For this reason, after a disastrous winter season due to excessively high temperatures, the plant engineers of the Pistoia Apennines have decided for this extraordinary opening.
