“Between historical culture, food and wine and lots of charm” Saturday and Sunday in Taranto

Everything is ready for the first edition of the event “Between historical culture, food and wine and lots of charm” which will be held on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April in the splendid setting of the 5-star Relais ‘Histò San Pietro sul Mar Piccolo’ in Taranto. Over the two days, the Sala Basilica Ss. Pietro Andrea will host cultural, food and wine events, tastings, educational initiatives, conferences, round tables which will focus on the identity of the territory, its excellence, the opportunities for promotion and relaunch, but also masterclasses, show cooking, prize draws, poetry recitation and guided tours.

We will talk about high quality products, tradition and craftsmanship, territory and origin, harmonious combinations, sustainability and social responsibility, sensory experiences, education and dissemination.

On Saturday 27th at 5.30 pm, after the institutional greetings, we will get to the heart of the matter with the presentation of the conference “Italy at the table”; an important meeting in which qualified representatives of trade associations, specialized press and universities will talk about tourist hospitality, dining room service and training. The round table will be moderated by the journalist Antonella Millarte, head of the press office of ‘Puglia Promozione’.

The tasting stands will open at 7pm. The guests present will be able to taste a selection of typical products including the ‘Norcineria Martinese’ cured meats from Cervellera, the Ionian goat cheeses and more, the Altamura Dop bread, the extra virgin olive oil from the Cava Verde company, the black mussel from Taranto, the ‘Valbrà’ creams and soups, the honey from ‘Ape nell’orto’ and the desserts from the ‘Saint Martin’ pastry shop. To drink, obviously, local wines. On the tasting tables the wines and sparkling wines from the cellars of Erminio Campa, Scarano Spumanti; Giuseppe Schiena, Tenute Bellamarina, Vitis in Vulture, Aglianico, and Aroma Fine Wines with its DOCGs. The ‘Pikrò’ herbal elixir will delight the palate.

Rudy Lazzaro, deputy delegate of AIS Taranto, will lead a masterclass on wines and spirits. Antonio Derosa, professor and chef with long professional experience in the field in top-level structures in the hotel and restaurant sector, will amaze guests with a cooking show “Fantasies in the kitchen”. Each dish will be described and illustrated to all the guests, who can ask questions and clear up doubts, as well as obviously tasting a refined menu and learning recipes from a qualified chef.

Filippo Lamorgese, chef of the ‘Sabbia d’Oro Luxury Beach’ in Monopoli will welcome and guide the participants in choosing the best ingredients for a delicious lunch by sharing his tricks, his techniques and his culinary experience.

The students of the “Elsa Morante” Institute of Crispiano will welcome the guests and carry out room service alongside the AIS delegates.

And then again sabers of bubbles, drawing of important prizes, guided tours inside the host structure, music and much more.
