Mario Palleschi

«I thank my family, my wife, my children who have put up with me all my life. Doing this job every day on the road wasn’t easy, it gives you a lot but it also takes something away from you. I am proud of what I have done and I leave with few regrets and many satisfactions.” Deputy Brigadier Mario Palleschi, a true Neapolitan, will leave the Carabinieri on Friday 26 April – at the age of 60 – after almost 41 years of honorable service. Over the years he has been the protagonist of many episodes, even meritorious and significant ones, but above all of a daily job that often goes unnoticed, but which is even more important than individual situations. In which, however, he never held back: we remember, among others, the bronze medal for civil merit – as well as a solemn commendation – for having saved, together with his colleagues, two elderly people in the fire of their home in San Gemini. But also the simple commendation after the collapse of the crane in Piazza Dalmazia, dated 30 July 2014, which highlighted his work. Since 1996 in Terni, and always with the operational and mobile radio unit of the local Company, on 19 July 2019 Mario Palleschi he was injured in the feet following the shooting – with the subsequent arrest of the person responsible thanks also to his intervention – which took place in viale Curio Dentato in broad daylight. Since then, in addition to being awarded another solemn commendation and the Badge of Honor as he was injured in service, he has continued to serve the citizens from the Operations Center of the Via Radice command. Now the time has come to say goodbye to colleagues, friends and above all to the city where he will continue to live and which Mario, with his humanity, has contributed to making a little safer and more serene.
