Brescia celebrates April 25th: initiatives in the city and in the municipalities of the province

Today, April 25th, Liberation Day is celebrated. Like every year, there are many initiatives planned in Brescia to commemorate the liberation from Nazi occupation and fascist dictatorship.

Let’s start with the institutional ones. At 10.30 to the Vantini cemetery there will be the laying of wreaths at the Partisan Shrine and Holy Mass. The celebrations will then move on Loggia squarethe fulcrum of the day’s meeting. At 3.45pm there will be a concert band small town, at 4.30pm will begin meeting of the partisan, military and combatant associations, of the citizens and of the delegations of the Municipalities with the banners; at 5pm it will be the moment of laying of crowns to the gravestones of Palazzo Loggia, to the Fallen in Piazza della Loggia and to the Fallen of the city of Brescia for freedom (1943-1945) in Largo Formentone; will follow, at 5.30pmi Greetings of the mayor of Brescia Laura Castelletti and the partisan associations, after which two students, Marta Cremaschi and Christian Zoppini, will speak.

Like every April 25th, also the Carmine will come alive with the Carmine Resistenza party between live music, tables in the street and food stands distributed along via delle Battaglie, via Fratelli Bandiera and via Porta Pile. The stands will open at 12, the music will start half an hour later with Laura Sirani, Claudia is on the Sofa, Ettore Giuradei and Goiobada. At 4.30pm will then leave anti-fascist procession towards Piazza Loggia.
