PROVINCE OF ALESSANDRIA – The capital and the area centers of the province celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation in memory of the enormous sacrifice made to make Italy a free and democratic country, founded on the principles solemnly sanctioned by the Constitutional Charter.
In Alessandria the celebrations of April 25th are organized byMunicipal Administration, Prefecture of Alexandria, Province of AlexandriaL’Institute of the Blue Ribbon among Fighters Decorated for Military ValorL’National Association of Families and Fallen Missing in WarL’ANPI-Provincial Committee of Alessandria, theISRAL-Institute for the history of resistance and contemporary society in the province of Alessandria “Carlo Gilardenghi”, the Association Benedicta’s memorythe “Francesca Calvo” Civic Library of Alexandria and ASM Building Together. The ceremony also takes advantage of the participation of the “Luciano Bevilacqua” cultural association with the Civic Music Band “Giuseppe Cantone” Of Alexandria.

The celebrations will begin at 9 am at the Monumental Urban Cemetery of Alessandria cwith the deposition of one laurel wreath athe Field of Glory – Shrine of the Fallen for Freedom. At 4 pm a laurel wreath will be placed at the Stele dedicated to the Pinan Cichero Division. This will be followed by greetings from the Mayor of Cantalupo Ligure, Pierluigi Debenedetti, and the Mayor of Novi Ligure, Rocchino Muliere. An important collateral event is also planned for Thursday 25 April. It’s about “Partisans always!”, a show produced by the “Memoria della Benedicta” Association and Anpi Cesena on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Resistance, which will be held at 9 pm in the Paolo Giacometti Theater in Corso Piave, 2. The performance is a succession of stories, quotes, songs that bring to mind the sacrifice of men willing to die for freedom. The author of the text is Massimo Carlotto, the songs and music are composed and performed by Yo Yo Mundi and Maurizio Camardi, the direction is by Velia Mantegazza.

TO Ovada the celebrations for April 25th begin at 9.15am with the gathering in Piazza Matteotti where mass will then be celebrated in the Crypt of the Fallen in the urban cemetery. At the end, at 10.15, there will be a tribute to the Monument to the Resistance in via Gramsci, to the Monument to the fallen of all wars and to the plaque of those shot in Piazza XX Settembre with the musical intervention of the “Antonio Rebora” band directed by Maestro GB Olivieri. TO Valencia the meeting of citizens and authorities for the celebrations of the 79th Anniversary of the Liberation is set for 9.30 at Palazzo Pellizzari for the deposition of a coroma on the staircase of the Municipality and the reading of Quasimodo’s poem engraved on the tombstone. At 10am, mass will then be celebrated in the Cathedral and at the end, at 11am, the procession will start along Corso Garibaldi and Viale Oliva. Upon arrival at the Don Minzoni Gardens, wreaths will be placed on the war memorial and on the plaque on the facade of the school building. This will be followed by a greeting from the mayor of Valenza and readings by the students of the Cellini el Instituteofficial oration by Giovanni Bosco.
