In recent days the councilor has launched the idea: to temporarily entrust the stadium, Sunday after Sunday, while waiting for the tender whose timing will certainly go beyond the start of the next championships.
A project, the latter, which has sent the entrepreneur from Grotte di Castro into a rage, still waiting for the green light on the stadium to begin personally leading FC Viterbo with a serious and ambitious project.
Opening and closing the stadium on a weekly basis would represent an obstacle to the work of a club that aims to win the Excellence championship to attempt the climb up to professionalism. A club like this needs a secretariat and a series of offices open daily and in the case of Rocchi, at least until the tender is concluded, this would not be possible. This is a good substance of Camilli’s thought.

Piero Camilli, what do you think of Emanuele Aronne’s idea?
“It is an absolutely inappropriate proposal. The councilor doesn’t realize what it means to play football at certain levels.”
A team, especially if it is aiming for the top, needs the stadium every day.
“Certainly. If I create a team and participate in a championship to win, where do I put the secretariat and the offices of the various managers? If I take the helm of FC Viterbo I want to go to Serie D, Serie C and Serie B, not to the third category.”
Maybe the municipality isn’t clear about the work behind a sports project like this?
“If you want to emerge, you need structures, not a stadium that opens and closes on Sunday. Then, if the municipality wants to be in the third category or in the amateurs, go ahead. A stadium open only on Sundays is for matches between bachelors and married couples.”
What do you think of Rossi’s contemporary abandonment?
“I fought for ten years about making that field and it’s sad to walk past it and see it in that state.”
Do you think the municipality will be able to find a solution?
“I do not know this. Perhaps the administrators are in good faith and simply do not realize the gravity of the situation. The worst thing is that there is no Sports Councilor to deal with, which I would have done with great pleasure.”
Is it true that many teams continue to look for you?
“Unfortunately, yes, but not of Excellence. We are talking about companies that frequent higher categories. Evidently I did something good.”
As for FC Viterbo, why did you choose not to attend the matches?
“I didn’t feel like it. As a sponsor I put money into it and I did it with pleasure and without problems. To fully enter into the project, however, things must be done well. I remember when I came to Viterbo: Viterbese was not registered in the championship and I took them from Excellence to victory in the Serie C Italian Cup. I had structures, offices, personnel and technical staff. At present the municipality can only manage the third category”.
