New news on Traffic Laws and stricter restrictions for drivers. The text already approved in the Chamber of Deputies and reached the Senate for the definitive yes, introduces significant changes in terms of road safety. Among these, the increase in sanctions and the suspension of the license for those who use mobile phones while driving and the possibility for new drivers to drive more powerful cars, even in the first three years from the issue of the license driving license. Experienced drivers will have to deal with the news, but – to date – how many would be able to pass the “pink license” exam again?
There are many Italians who would not pass the test, in fact, too many: we are talking about at least 78 out of 100. The data emerged from a simulation conducted by AutoScout24 and Egaf Edizioni on a sample of over 2,700 motorists active on the well-known four-wheel advertisement portal . Everyone who has had a type B driving license for at least five years, only in 22.3% of cases have they made a maximum of 2 errors out of 20 questions (10%, the same ratio as the official exam which allows 3 out of 30) . While the overall average stood at 5 wrong answers, a quarter of the total.
Which regions are most suitable
Molise in last place with 6.9% of those admitted, 31.7% recorded in Lazio, with Emilia-Romagna in second position at 28%. Figures – even the latter – are much lower than the pass rate for the actual theory exam, which according to what the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport reported in 2023 was 60.1% (also down from 70 .2% of 2020). Candidates often fall on questions regarding car warning lights, road signs, public transport stops, intersections and roundabouts.
For the record, the practical test is less treacherous and was successfully passed 85% of the time last year. The importance of updating The picture that emerged from the survey – we read in its results – “underlines the importance of carrying out constant updates even after obtaining the license given the continuous changes to the highway code that have occurred in recent years”. And it may not end here as a new reform, after having been approved last month by the House, is now awaiting consideration by the Senate.
