Orceana U17, Mister Ippomei: “The championship victory is for Cristian Capoccia, it’s missing a lot”

The ranking reads: Orceana 61, Manerbio 54 and Montirone 45. With one day still to play, Alessio Ippomei’s Orceana is champion in Group B and it was the coach himself who explained to us what a season it was, after the false start.

For Ippomei it is a double satisfaction: after having brought Montenetto to the second category, here is the triumph with the Under 17 where (even greater satisfaction) his son Valter also plays, protagonist in the big match with Rovato with a double. Below are the coach’s words:

“It was undoubtedly a good season, even though we lost the first match, all my staff and the boys worked hard and now we reached 16 games without defeat; As a championship it was very tough, there were four teams that gave us a hard time like Manerbio, Montirone, Rovato and San Michele but fortunately we won the direct clashes and from there the margin we had increased.

As the greatest emotion I cannot fail to mention the victory over Rovato, 2-1 at the end, with a decisive brace from my son; as a father it was indescribable. Instead I think that the unjust defeat against Montirone, from 2-0 to 3-2, was the decisive one in making everyone take an extra mental step. Last year I coached a first team (Montenetto, then promoted to second category) while this year the boys: I won’t deny that the emotions are the same but it’s very different. On the one hand we fight for the result with adults who do everything to achieve the goal. With young people, however, the educational aspect is also taken care of and it’s very satisfying to watch them grow.

Personally my goal would be to return to a first team, together with my collaborators Fabrizio Iannuzzelli and Maurizio Manenti; this season has also been positive in terms of the growth of the boys, Marco Castelli was called up to the First team in Eccellenza while others instead with the Juniores.

The dedication goes to the boys, they and all my staff deserved it. Above all, however, I want to remember Cristian Capocciawho passed away in a road accident, we miss him very much.”
