Is the Piacenza police school moving? The risk, combined with the probable relocation of eight carabinieri barracks in the province, was highlighted by the League group in the Chamber of Deputies with a question whose first signatory was Simona Bordonaliwhich will be answered by the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi on the occasion of question time today 24 April.
The question concerns the police schools of Brescia and Piacenza and eight carabinieri barracks in the province of Piacenza. The text claims that the question of the transfer of police schools and barracks was hypothesized “with a view to rationalizing the cost of rent” which, however, write the Northern League deputies, “does not take into account the relevance in the urban fabric of the host cities ”. In particular, we read that a market search would have been started in Piacenza for properties to be used as the headquarters of the police school and eight barracks of the Carabinieri, located in the municipalities of the province. The signatories will ask the minister “if and what relevant initiatives he intends to adopt to reach a solution to the issue in the premise that it avoids the transfer of schools from the cities of Brescia and Piacenza”.
“The property of the Piacenza student agent school is owned by a private company, there is an active rental contract stipulated by the State Property Agency as part of the more general activity of rationalizing the costs of private properties intended for public use – is the response of the Minister of the Interior Piantedosi -. Investigations have been carried out and investigations are still underway with the State Property Agency to identify any alternative locations that offer better residential and service conditions, preferably however in the same city. However, the priority objective is to keep the school in the same location. Alternative solutions, therefore, are taken into consideration only if they comply with precise requirements that take into account the territorial context of reference and the need to ensure their full operation within a reasonable timeframe”.
