The ‘Research on pedals’ for cystic fibrosis stops in Cerignola

The fourth edition of ‘Ricerca sui pedali’ stops in Cerignola, a 5-day initiative dedicated to cycling and scientific research, an awareness event on cystic fibrosis, the serious genetic disease “that takes your breath away” most widespread in Europe, without yet a definitive cure.

The cycling event in Capitanata is for Sunday 28 April at 10am at the entrance of the Tatarella hospital where there will be a meeting with the healthcare workers of the cystic fibrosis center of Cerignola, the Strategic Management of the ASL FG and the representatives of the Italian Cystic Fibrosis League Puglia. The associations ‘Sos Sorriso Clowterapy’, ‘Inner Wheel Club Cerignola’, ‘Inner Wheel Club Trani’, ‘Centro di Ascolto don Antonio Palladino’, and the ‘Gruppo Scout Cerignola 1 Tornado’ will welcome the athletes and liven up the morning with stands awareness raising and distribution of gadgets to promote and support research. Special guest Bruno with his magic and juggling. The cyclists are scheduled to leave for the following stages at 12.30pm.

‘Ricerca sui pedali’ is organized by 4 FFC Ricerca volunteers who have to deal with cystic fibrosis every day: Oronzo (FFC Ricerca delegation from Brindisi Torre and father of a little girl with cystic fibrosis), Rosario (Sicilian volunteer), Virginia (FFC Research Delegation of Florence) and Roberto Cau (Sardinian delegate of FFC Research).
