A year ago the “Giorgio Arnaldi” field hockey field in Lagaccio was inaugurated after radical adaptation works carried out by the Municipality of Genoa: renovated with a latest generation synthetic turf, to be complete it needed benches sideline. Now, in the year in which Genoa is the European capital of sport, the intervention was made by the Italian Hockey Federation (Fih) thanks to a supply agreement with A.Se.F. Srl, the public-owned funeral and funeral transport company which, for years now, has been active in the social sphere and in supporting sport in the city. On the occasion of the top flight match between Superba and Cus Pisa, the new structures were inaugurated by the president of the Ligurian regional committee Fih Franco Melis and the sole administrator of A.Se.F. Maurizio Barabino.

In Genoa alone, the Federation has over 500 members. Liguria is the first region in Italy in the ratio between number of practitioners and number of inhabitants. Federal activity is based on the work of many volunteers. The “Giorgio Arnaldi” has a particular value at city level. It is the only field in the municipal area that has the characteristics to host competitive matches of the top series.

In addition to the supply of benches, there is the stipulation of an agreement which provides benefits and discounts for all Ligurian members and their families who find themselves in the difficult moment of a loss.
