(Sixth Power) – Forlì – 24 April 2024 – The 2023/24 Season of the Diego Fabbri Theater ended with excellent results in terms of public participation, bringing to Forlì a wide-ranging cultural offer, both qualitative and quantitative, inclusive of many and different languages of live entertainment, therefore “open” to welcome all the “audiences” of the city and the territory.

Constant elements of the Artistic Direction of Claudio Casadio And Ruggero Sintoni (in the picture) who were also awarded by the public of Forlì, on the occasion of the Art Bonus 2024 Competition, organized by the Ministry of Culture, which brought the “Diego Fabbri project” to third place on a national scale.

Organized by Municipality of Forlì and from the Production Center Lost Academy/Romagna Theatres with the constant support of Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì Foundationthe Season recorded over 23,000 total attendances for the many events scheduled: Prose, Modern (at Fabbri and Piccolo), Comic, Dance & Musicals, Family and for appointments”Out of Subscription”, in addition to the usual large participation in the Meetings with Artists and Authors at the Redoubt.

The Prose Season, with its 1,200 subscribers – including many students from secondary schools and universities – proposed a balanced combination of tradition and innovation: from the monumental staging of Mary Stuart by Schiller with Laura Marinoni and Elisabetta Pozzi in the “mystery” Mousetrap by Agatha Christie with Lodo Guenzi; from Uncle Vanya of Chekhov in Leonardo Lidi’s directorial reinterpretation of the comedy Loose cannons by Ferzan Ozpetek with Francesco Pannofino; from Story of a blackcap by Giovanni Verga with Enrico Guarneri a Ginger & Fred with Monica Guerritore, up to the hilarious “generational comedy” Sorry, I’m in a meeting… can I call you back? with Vanessa Incontrada and Gabriele Pignotta.

Artists with whom the public had the opportunity to interact “vis à vis” thanks to the Meetings at the Ridotto, during which the themes, curiosities and background of the proposed shows were explored in depth.

Punctual and constant were the “sold out” shows for the Comedy program (with Katia Follesa, Debora Villa, Filippo Caccamo and Giuseppe Giacobazzi) and Modern, a show which this season recorded the highest increase in subscriptions (reaching 667 ), with protagonists of the caliber of Edoardo Leo, Stefano Fresi, Paola Minaccioni, Angela Finocchiaro and Claudio Bisio.

This particular event was expanded this year with a “tranche” scheduled to take place at the Teatro Piccolo, with equally prestigious protagonists such as Valeria Solarino, Paola Turci, Giovanni Scifoni, Arianna Porcelli Safonov and Andrea Pennacchi and as many as 1,200 attendees in just 5 evenings.

Regular “sold out” events also recorded the “Fuori Subbonamento” proposals which ranged from Max Gazzè’s author music to musicals Sister Act And Chicagoup to the surprising show of illusionism of the young Luca Bono.

As in every previous Season, large participation of children, girls and families took part in the Family programme, scheduled in festive matinees with free admission and promoted thanks to the precious collaboration of the Forlì Romagna Family Centre.

The exhibition dedicated to the art of dance brought to the stage different languages, from ballet “on pointe” to modern, while the spaces of the Ridotto were this year involved, in addition to the meetings with the protagonists of the Prose programme, also by “meetings” and opportunities for interaction with artists from different fields.

For example: “Ridotto in Poesia”, organized in collaboration with the Metropolis cultural association, and hosted by Marco Colonna, brought to Forlì important poets of national importance such as Serse Cardellini, Annalisa Teodorani and Gian Ruggero Manzoni.

While “Words, images and Theatre” offered, thanks to the synergy with Marmo – contemporary art library, an overview of the publishing scene dedicated to illustrations, together with Maja Celija, Virginia Portioli, Tatjana Hauptmann and Barbara Bernardini.

It is important to underline the involvement of many students from the city who participated in the “Theatre in class” initiative, created in collaboration with Centro Diego Fabbri and Il Resto del Carlino, with the publication of the best reviews written by the students, with a view to bringing the young people in the performing arts.

The mere numerical data are then accompanied by the feedback obtained through the specific questionnaires submitted to the public at the end of the various exhibitions, recording an appreciation of the proposals, judged “satisfactory” or “very satisfactory”, by 94% of those interviewed.

In the 2023/24 Season, the Diego Fabbri Theater has therefore been able to confirm and consolidate its title as an important cultural representation for the city, an inclusive and vital space for both artists and spectators.

A project that is never static and always ready to renew itself, active throughout the year: in fact, its summer “extension” to the Arena della Rocca di Caterina and the new, prestigious 2024/25 Season are ready to be presented to the public.
