Bitterness in the Manfredonian Democratic Party: “We have tried in every way, with the political agreement signed with the 5 Star Movement of Manfredonia, to give body and substance to an idea of an alternative city, founded on the values of legality, inclusion, social relaunch and cultural – comments the party on social media -. Today we are forced to take note of the silence that the M5S, at all levels, it undermined that agreement, effectively sanctioning its rupture. The vision underlying that pact was based on the progressive, democratic and popular ideals of the center-left, which remain at the basis of our political thinking and action. The tight deadlines of electoral competition do not prevent us from pursuing the best ways to achieve those objectives; the paths we will try to follow will certainly not be those of improvisation or unnatural alliances”.
And again: “We don’t want to give up the idea that it is still possible to work together on the realization of that project, even if we make an effort to overcome differences which, so far, have prevented the creation of a broader centre-left political field. We owe it to the citizens and to our history: we do not want to leave Manfredonia at the mercy of a government guided by populism, superficiality and improvisation, like the one that has befallen us in the last two years. Or abandon the city adrift of a right at all levels that is increasingly authoritarian and self-referential, completely unfit to take charge of the social emergencies that mark our time. We stay on the field, with the strength of the women and men who animate our club every day. Certain of meeting traveling companions who, like us, still cultivate the hope of a better, humanly and naturally sustainable future.”
There are once again four safe candidates. Just today Domenico La Marca launched its Facebook page with the slogan “Let’s Make the Future” and symbols Pier 21Manfredonia Civica, With Manfredonia, Manfredonia Popular Project, Greens – Green Europe Manfredonia and La Marca Sindaco.
In the running, for the centre-right, Ugo Galli driven by the civic sign “Manfredonia 2024”, with the support of Fratelli d’Italia and Forza Italia. The regional official, president of the union club and son of the late judge Alexanderhas been launching his candidacy for days through posters, social videos and election campaign slogans.
He also launched his candidacy by shouting “I am Vincenzo”. Vincenzo Di Staso supported by the civic list Di Staso mayor – Giocani by name, Strada Fare, Udc, Lega and Puglia Popolare.
Finally, the former parliamentarian is in the game Antonio Tasso for the civic movements Agiamo, Sipontum, We are Manfredonia and Antonio Tasso Mayor.
