On the occasion of the ‘May of books’ exhibition, the Cerignola community library organized the presentation of the book ‘La canvas di Svevo’ by Alessio Rega (Les Flâneurs publisher). The appointment is for Saturday 27 April at 6pm in the conference room of Palazzo di Città. ‘Svevo’s canvas’. Svevo is seventy-three years old and lives in his home good retreat in Molfetta. Here he dedicates himself to painting, even if he is forced to settle for sacred art commissions that come from politicians he despises. On the occasion of the presentation of his new Madonna, Svevo meets Anna for the first time in person, a talented young harpist used as an unwitting model for his painting. In the twelve months in which they date, the protagonist is shocked by the freshness and ambition of the girl, starting a sentimental journey between Italy and Corsica (where the two will go in search of Svevo’s son, from never known and recognized), which will force both to look inside themselves by looking at the other. What will Svevo choose when he realizes that he is an obstacle to Anna’s ambitions and that he has covered his young existence with a veil of melancholy? And will Anna be up to taking up the lesson of her much-loved master, dedicating herself to non-conformism and the search for freedom?
Alessio Rega. Journalist and publisher, he founded the publishing group ‘Les Flâneurs’ which includes six publishing houses. He has collaborated with various newspapers and has dealt with numerous communication projects for organizations and companies. He participated in the organization of literary festivals and cultural events. He published the coming-of-age novel ‘Giro di vita’ in 2014. Some of his texts have been included in essays and collections.
