AVEZZANO. Discount on the waste tax, the management report for the year 2023, the transaction with the Rivaluazione Trara company for the acquisition by the Municipality of the former sugar factory railway and the regulation regarding the issuing of “pink permits” (the parking spaces for pregnant women and mothers with newborns in tow). These are the main points on the agenda discussed and approved yesterday by the Civic Council of the Municipality of Avezzano.
TARI AND REPORT
The president of the Budget Commission illustrated the financial news, Lucio Mercogliano. «TARI tariffs will drop, marking an overall saving for citizens of over 200 thousand euros for 2024 and with greater effects on larger families», explains Mercogliano. «Following the Aciam tariff freeze that took place last year, it was possible to lower the costs of the 2024 PEF compared to those of previous years, leading to savings of around 5% on average on both domestic and non-domestic users, thanks to the new tender “contract that the office prepared and completed between 2023 and 2024”. The discount on the TARI was approved with the opposition councilors voting against it Goffredo Taddei (FI) e Stefano Lanciotti and the abstention of her colleague from the Democratic Party, Lorenza Panei.
The point relating to the 2023 financial statement also passes which, continued Mercogliano, «attests to the health of our body, which comes out very well in comparison with similar realities in Abruzzo and Italy, surpassing in virtuosity, in 70% of the national indicators, the municipalities with same demographic range. Thanks above all to the administration surplus of 24 million euros, we could, in the future, use around 3 million euros for interventions in the city”.
EX RAILWAY AGREEMENT
The agreement between the Municipality and the Rivaluazione Trara company, which is owned by the family, was also dismissed by the civic body Pickaxe of Celano, for the acquisition of the former sugar factory railway, which will be reborn as a route, reserved for runners, cyclists and outdoor sports enthusiasts, of approximately 9 kilometers round trip, which goes from the railway station to the gates of the Fucino. In particular, the agreement provides for the payment in favor of Revaluation Trara of 687,323.62 euros (difference between the amount owed by the Municipality to the company equal to 1,632,232.67 euros and the amount in turn owed by the company to the Municipality for the IMU and the Tasi not paid for the years 2017/2022 equal to 450 thousand euros), in addition to the former primary school in via Garibaldi, for an estimated value of 500 thousand euros, present among the alienable properties. In exchange the Municipality will become owner of the railway for an estimated value of 960 thousand euros. Not only that, having set aside 1,440,000 euros in the budget after the last unfavorable ruling, the organization will be able to immediately invest 373 thousand euros for the initial part of the route.
the stop in PINK
The new regulation on the use of “pink stalls” has been approved and comes into force today. Designed to facilitate pregnant women and new parents, the new measure will allow vehicles with expectant mothers or mothers and fathers of children aged up to two years to park in reserved spaces, delimited by special signs, for a maximum of two hours. The application for the issue of the pink permit must be submitted to the Municipality using a specific form, already available. The 29 pink car parks in the city are located in the points most frequented by parents, such as pharmacies, playgrounds and hospitals.
