Trento, 24 April 2024

In the third match of the Final series for 3rd place in the Scudetto Play Offs, the field factor was eliminated. After a home success for each side in the tie break in game 1 and game 2, this evening Allianz Milano managed to conquer the Arena di Trento with the maximum margin, gaining the advantage for the first time: thanks to the 3-0 away obtained today, now the Milanese will have two opportunities to close the account in their favor to gain access to the next edition of the CEV Champions League (guaranteed to the team that obtains the bronze medal of the championship): the first already on Saturday 27 April in Lombardy (8.30pm).
The fifth home defeat of the season will therefore force Itas Trentino to have to work overtime and play very different volleyball from the one seen today if they want to compete for the highest continental trophy in the 2024/25 season too. This evening Milan managed to corner them right from the start, demonstrating that they have more determination and fuel than their opponents. Having won the first two hard-fought sets with personality, Piazza’s team then spread in the third set, when Trento almost immediately stopped believing in the possible comeback and the third tie break of the series. Ishikawa (mvp and best scorer) and Mergarejo Hernandez dragged their teammates towards success, landing 15 of the 26 break points scored by Allianz. Itas Trentino lived on the flames of Rychlicki (the only one in double figures together with Magalini) and Kozamernik on the block (four of the eight yellow-blue winners bear the Slovenian’s signature), without however ever giving the impression of being able to reverse the trend . Saturday, race 4 in Milan will be the last chance to get back into the running.

Below is the scoreboard for game 3 of the 3rd Place Final Play Off Credem Banca 2024 played this evening at the IlT Daily Arena.
