The environmental redevelopment work continues urban forest Of Monterusciello to Pozzuolipromoted by Municipality of Pozzuoliwith the involvement of Mase Ministryof the Metropolitan City of Naplesfinanced with i PNRR funds for the ecological transition.

The first thing to do is clean up the areas, with the collection of approximately 20 tons of waste urban and bulky solids. Furthermore, 20 thousand young trees and plants have already been planted, created by companies in the sector selected through public procedures.

From holm oaks, turkey oaks, cork oaks, fruit trees and poplars, as well as a varied type of plants such as dog rose, mastic tree, viburnum and broad-leaved trees. All native species, compatible with the climatic conditions of the area.

So announces the mayor of Pozzuoli Gigi Manzoni: “They are young plants, over the years they will grow and fill the neighborhood with small green lungs. Citizens will benefit with improved air quality and the creation of forests and ecological corridors. Furthermore, the works are allowing the recovery of old infrastructures abandoned for years, such as canals for water management”.

“The project – continues the mayor – will continue in the near future, with planting to be completed by 2024 and continuous maintenance, already entrusted in the first 3 years. The final objective is to give Monterusciello a new identity in the name of the environment and care of the territory”.
