Catania, 24 April 2024 – This morning the event was held “A goal for solidarity, a match against feminicide”. It took place at the Massimino stadium in Catania a football quadrangular, organized by All Stars Sicilia. The National TV Artists, the All Stars Sicily, the National Regional Councilors of Italy, the National Journalists participated. The proceeds will benefit the diocesan Caritas of Catania directed by Father Nuccio Puglisi and the Thamaia non-profit association, committed to fighting and combating violence against women.
“It was a wonderful initiative, of high social value. We must do everything possible – declares the President of the Lazio regional council, Antonello Aurigemma, coordinator of the conference of presidents of the legislative assemblies of the regions and autonomous provinces, who participated in today’s event – for maintain high attention on sensitive issues such as violence against women and femicide, real social evils. Combining sport, in this case football, with solidarity is very important, since practicing sport also teaches fundamental values in everyday life, such as commitment, sacrifice, loyalty, and above all respect: for rules, for others, in particular for ideas others. I want to thank the president of the Sicilian regional assembly, Gaetano Galvagno, because on his initiative the conference of presidents joined “A goal for solidarity”.
Greetings and thanks also to all the councilors who participated this morning, and to all those who made this beautiful day possible. As a conference of presidents, we will always guarantee maximum support for events and projects on these delicate topics, which require the commitment and synergistic collaboration of all the institutions and entities involved. These are challenges that we must face together.
