The State Police School remains in its current location on Via Vittorio Veneto in the city. This was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, responding in question time to the dmember of the League from Brescia, Simona Bordonali.
The minister explains to parliament that assessments are underway regarding the economic convenience and financial coverage to finalize the acquisition of the structure, in any case they are defining the contractual conditions to extend the activities of the police school in the building in via Veneto. «We favor the reacquisition of the property by the State to maintain the school in Brescia. Pending the negotiation, reported in the note dated 15 April, the Ministry of the Interior confirms to the state property the need to use the property and to define new contractual conditions for the school in that location”.
The deputy of the League, Simona Bordonali, does not hide her satisfaction: “This is excellent news for all the people of Brescia.”
The government’s reassurances allow Brescia to maintain an important function: «Very positive news, which the city warmly welcomesbecause the Judicial, Administrative and Investigative Police School has been firmly connected to our urban fabric since 1974″ comments the mayor Laura Castelletti.
The confirmation of the police academy in via Veneto averts the prospect of a new abandoned area within the city to be given a second life.
«Leaving that property vacant would have been complicated given the urban regeneration problems affecting numerous structures in the city» adds Bordonali.
An advantage also for present and future Polgai students because, in the case of a transfer to Serini di Montichiari, they would have found themselves in a different context. The transfer of the police school to Lower Bresciana would have meant for the students “a transfer away from the urban center and with a quality of life that was certainly worse than what should be recognized” states the Northern League MP, now a candidate in the European elections.
A I applaud the minister Piantedosi also arrives by the Autonomous Police Union. «Certainly having the presence of numerous student agents of the State Police is a source of pride and security for the city of Brescia, considering that the Institute offers numerous services for all law enforcement agencies» explains Paolo Faresin, provincial secretary of the SAP of Brescia.
