Olbia, driving a stolen car: two people in trouble

Olbia. On the night of 12 April, the staff of the Sassari Traffic Police – Olbia Detachment – we read in a press release from the Police Headquarters – “reported two subjects for the theft of a car and the equipment contained in it, of considerable value. The officers, working at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Olbia at night, noticed a car skidding noticeably and then proceeded to stop it to carry out the ritual checks. Two subjects were identified inside the vehicle and the presence of numerous people was ascertained gardening equipment of considerable value. The checks revealed that the driver, visibly agitated, had no license as it had been revoked a few months earlier”.

“The same man, subjected to breath tests, was found to be driving with a blood alcohol level of 3 times the permitted limit. Furthermore, the officers, suspicious of some contradictory statements, decided to contact the owner of the vehicle, the owner of an agricultural company Gallura, discovering that he had not been aware of the theft which had occurred shortly before. The two subjects were then reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Tempio Pausania also for the crime of theft, in collaboration with each other”, concludes the note.
