On 23 April a haulier was seized together with his vehicle while he was in Aprilia.
The man was found in the evening disoriented and in a state of shock in the municipality of Minturno by a patrol of the Radiomobile Section of the Formia Carabinieri Company.
The lorry driver told the Carabinieri that he had been kidnapped and robbed at around 12.00 while he was in the municipality of Aprilia. Three camouflaged individuals got into his vehicle and forcibly immobilized him. Having taken possession of the truck, they then released it at around 6.00 pm near the Garigliano bridge, in the municipality of Minturno.
Subsequent investigations by the Carabinieri made it possible to find both the tractor and the trailer of the articulated lorry.
The tractor was found at 8.00 pm in the province of Caserta, in the municipality of Cancello and Arnone, by the Carabinieri of the local station.
During the night, however, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Mondragone Company also found the trailer of the truck with its container on the Mondragone-Falciano provincial road.
The transported load was still present and was therefore entirely recovered. These are 760 packages of calcium carbonate worth approximately 28,000 euros.
