The initiative is part of the actions of the “Ci sto!” project. presented by the Municipality of Cremona in collaboration with universities, schools and a wide network of partners as part of the call Lombardy belongs to the Youth 2023financed by the Lombardy Region in collaboration with ANCI Lombardia.

The primary objective was to promote a constructive and stimulating dialogue, placing emphasis on the distinction between personal aspirations and professional objectives, as well as on the new perceptive paradigm of the universe of work by young people. The “blind interview” formula was tested: the participants were the protagonists of a very intense and engaging moment.

«The ‘I’m in!’ project within which this event takes place he explained at the beginning Maria Carmen Russianresponsible for the Youth Information Service, Orientation, School, University, Work Development gives continuity to our commitment to young people with a substantial paradigm shift: the objective is to encourage an attitude of co-responsibility in young people, leading them to be active protagonists and therefore to participate as proposing and generative subjects of co-planned ideas”.

«Why do companies struggle to find young talent today? What do young people think about the world of work? How do they imagine their future? These are some of the questions from which we started to imagine this event. Surveys such as Generation Z of the Young Industrialists Group of Cremona and the Youth Report of the Toniolo Institute highlight how important it is to further shorten the distance between the world of training and work and to ensure that young people learn to understand the economic and territorial context where they live and what opportunities it can offer them. The new generations they need to be listened to and actively involved in decisions regarding their professional future. This event wanted to represent a step towards building a bridge between the needs of young people and the opportunities offered by the local business world», he continued Maura RuggeriCouncilor for Education.

The event, hosted by Andrew Mattioliconsultant in the field of Digital Organization and AI, trainer and teacher in innovation and technologies then got to the heart of things. Stephen Tanturlisenior counselor of the Informagiovani of the Municipality of Cremona, underlined how a change of approach on the part of both recruiters and candidates is desirable by launching the hashtag : therefore no longer a selection of personnel, but of personalities

Prompted by some questions, the young people interacted with the host and the entrepreneurs. Particularly significant was the active involvement of the Interuniversity Council of Cremona, represented by Francesca Pinna, Gaia Accigliaro And Nicolò Ducatogether with representatives of the participating companies: Paride Spinelli (Ermes srls – Cremona Young Industrialists Group), Paolo Beltrami (Paolo Beltrami Spa – Ance Cremona Youth Group), Davide Palmas (Hidroklima snc – CNA Cremona) e Paolo Pavesi (Fees – CRIT).

We then entered the heart of the event with the Blind Interview conducted by Francesca BenedettiHR Manager of MartinoRossi Spa: with a particular form of “blind” interview, Emanuele Ascolesemember of the Interuniversity Council of Cremona, highlighted his skills and aptitudes beyond visual prejudices, thus favoring a selection based on more objective criteria and not conditioned by sometimes misleading strategies.

The discussion continued with a conversation between young people and entrepreneurs during which several crucial themes related to today’s world of work emergedincluding the search for working contexts in line with personal values, positioning in group dynamics, the importance of defining a new concept of leadership and a new mode of communication, the need to overcome prejudices, to demonstrate on the part of the candidate’s real interest in the company and in the role for which he is applying, flexibility, worklife balance, vision and professional paths.

«We must first be leaders of ourselves, know our defects and be able to change. You young people always cultivate curiosity because it is the driving force behind knowledgeto. The desire to do is the desire to live: if you are hungry for life, you will have passion and desire to do. Face the inevitable fatigue, but reduce it by learning to recognize the positive aspects and always returning to the meaning of your work, which is never an individual matter, but a group mission. The desire to change never becomes an escape from the challenge of everyday life. Specific competence is essential and your training is continuous and the initial training is for the growth of your humanity. And all this also applies to us adults.” was the mayor’s reflection Gianluca Galimberti at the end of this plenary session.

Finally, an informal “Aperijob” offered the opportunity to further explore the themes that emerged during the conversations, thus consolidating the links between young people and entrepreneursencouraging the creation of new synergies for the future and promoting an innovative and inclusive vision of the world of work, in tune with the needs and values of the new generations.
