City councilor Enrico Pedace raised an important issue regarding road safety in the area between the Papanice district and the Passovecchio area, in the city of Crotone. In a letter sent to the Prefect, the Extraordinary Commissioner of the SIN Calabria, the President of the Calabria Region, the President of the Province, the Mayor of Crotone, the Liquidator Commissioner of the Lower Ionian Reclamation Consortium and other competent authorities, Pedace highlighted the serious road conditions and the urgent need for safety measures.

The road in question, which extends from the Papanice district to the Passovecchio area, is currently in disastrous conditions: the road surface has numerous potholes which represent a serious danger for anyone traveling along it. Pedace underlined how road maintenance is fundamental for the economic and social development of the area, as it promotes the mobility of people and reduces traffic on main arteries such as the SS 106.

Furthermore, the councilor highlighted that the road in question plays an important role in the context of the planned closure of the Consortium road for the start of reclamation works on a former industrial site. In view of this event, it becomes even more crucial to guarantee a safe alternative for vehicle transit, in order to avoid congestion and accidents.

Pedace therefore called for timely intervention by the competent authorities to make the road safe and guarantee the tranquility and safety of citizens. Concluding his letter, he expressed confidence in the resolution of the problem and thanked in advance for the attention paid to the issue.
