LATINA – Gheorghe Brehana, the 51-year-old worker who fell from the roof of a warehouse in Latina Scalo, did not make it. The man’s condition immediately appeared desperate after the accident which occurred on 8 April in Via Carrara. Since then he had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the San Camillo in Rome where he had arrived by air ambulance and where he died in the last few hours.

The fall from a height of nine meters occurred while he was on the roof fixing the roofing of the headquarters of a company, with his private company specializing in construction work. An investigation was opened into the accident by the Latina Prosecutor’s Office and investigations by the labor inspectors of the Latina ASL are still underway. Originally from Romania, the 51-year-old had settled in Latina for a long time with his family.

It is the third person to die at work in the province from the beginning of this year to date according to data from CGIL CISL and UIL which also report over 500 accidents at work in the same period. A theme that the three unions will put at the center of their participation on May 1st in Piazza del Popolo in Latina.
