BUSTO ARSIZIO – The tent is ready, this time heated and with the stage, and the grills are about to be lit: April 25th in the Parco per la Vita in Viale Stelvio the patronal feast of San Giuseppe kicks off. It is the most anticipated of the neighborhood festivals in Busto Arsizio: 18 days straight of initiatives religious and aggregative, with the food stand always active for lunch and dinner. About forty volunteers are already on the track, under the supervision of Mario Cislaghiwho in addition to being councilor for personnel and cemeteries is the point of reference for the association Friends of St. Joseph. Everyone is looking at the sky, to understand if the weather will be kind.

«Last year we raised the funds to install the anti-theft systems in churches and oratorythis year it’s up to new audio systems of the church and the oratory” reveals Mario Cislaghi, illustrating the program of the Festival under the 200 seat heated tent, which in these days of winter weather proves essential. «It also has an internal stage, another novelty» adds the councilor. «The historic group of volunteers is always there, as long as it holds up, but Young people are also starting to arriveespecially the girls.” We start on Thursday 25 April for lunch: among the main dishes the inevitable donkey stew with polenta (Friday 3 and Saturday 11 May for dinner, reservations required) and the paella with sangria (Saturday 27 April for dinner and Sunday 12 May for lunch).

Among the key events of the program: Sunday 28 April the Hammer Archers of the Altomilanese Park, which will make you experience the thrill of shooting the first arrow; Wednesday 1st May the historic stalls of the San Giuseppe fair and the delivery of the “Golden Josephine” at the end of the solemn Holy Mass; Thursday 2 May the evening with Mediaset’s war correspondent Angelo Machiavello who will talk about his experiences in international conflict theaters, starting from Ukraine; Sunday 5 May the street vendors of Insubria on viale Stelvio. Closing Sunday 12 May with the procession with the statue of Saint Joseph and the drawing of lottery tickets, with first prize a Dacia Sandero car.
