The Wood Section of Confindustria Alto Adige firmly believes that wood as a natural resource can significantly contribute to achieving climate neutrality. During the General Assembly, held recently in Bolzano, Armin Pixner (ALPI Fenster Srl) was confirmed in his role as President for the period 2024-2028 as well as his Deputy, Michael Gilli (X Timber Spa).
«Themes and trends such as sustainability, the protection of resources and carbon neutrality will change life and the way we act and will affect all economic sectors. As the Wood Section we can make a significant contribution in these areas. Starting from this belief, our activity in recent years has strongly focused on these themes. Through various initiatives we aimed to underline the advantages of wood as a raw material and as a sustainable and renewable building material»Pixner said in his report.
Also the Provincial Councilor Luis Walcher, who spoke as a guest of the Assembly, highlighted the importance of wood as a raw material, underlining the fact that the consolidated tradition that wood has in Alto Adige must be continued. The use of wood must be supported and strengthened, especially in construction, said Walcher, who made it clear that he wanted to continue the close collaboration started by his predecessor.
