The SS249 in the Tempesta area was closed due to a landslide

Tuesday 23 April – 11.26am

In the late evening of Monday 22 April, just before 11pm, a landslide occurred in the Tempesta area. A boulder measuring just under 2 cubic meters fell onto the road from the mountainside above, fortunately without involving any motorist. The site was already the subject of several rock blasts required following numerous previous rock landslides. The eastern Gardesana state road 249 was therefore closed between Navene and Torbole until the needs ceased. The police forces and the Riva del Garda Fire Brigade were on site, making the area safe and placing signs to divert traffic. The mayor of Nago-Torbole Gianni Morandi and of Malcesine Giuseppe Lombardi also went to the site of the landslide. We are awaiting the geologist’s assessments to understand when to reopen to traffic. We would also like to remind you that yesterday afternoon the state road 350 of Folgaria and Val D’Astico was also closed until 7 am on April 24th, due to the bad weather of recent days. Updates will follow based on the evolution of the weather.
