The presence of April 25th (Thursday) makes the upcoming weekend longer than expected and therefore greater possibilities for relaxation and fun.
As regards the ‘Liberation’ celebration, various events are scheduled: Gjmala farm, Capannine, Capomulini Lighthouse, Benedictine Monastery, Volcano House, Le Palme Beach Club, La Riserva Bistrot on the slopes of Etna, picnic among the rows .

A week full of events that will characterize the 2024 edition of the “Flower Festival”. Opening the “dance” on April 25th, waiting for the 2024 Flower Festival, will be Max Gazzè with his “Musicae Loci” with the Calabrian Orchestra in Piazza Duomo (Only paid event*). On 26, 27 and 28 April the event will get to the heart of the event with the parades along the streets of the historic center of the six flower-decorated floats created by the master craftsmen of Acesi, which again this year contemplate social and current issues. On April 26th the “Fiori in Fiera” exhibitions and markets of crafts, flowers and plants will also be inaugurated in the historic center and then at 9pm everyone will be in the square with “Discomania Radio 105”.
The beating heart of Catania, Piazza Università, will be transformed into a showcase of civic commitment and scientific hope from 25 to 28 April 2024 with the opening of the Research and Solidarity Village. The Village, a hub of meetings and activities, will offer commercial stands, street food areas with the famous Maxi Cake, play-sports areas, health spaces for free screening and an area dedicated to live music with the best tribute bands. Highlighting the importance of music in bringing people together, the stage will host renowned artists such as Chiara, Pietro Agnello, Eva, and big-name tribute bands such as Pink Style and Crystalball. The day of April 28th will culminate with the “Let’s Walk for Life” march, an event that symbolizes the collective march towards a future without genetic diseases
On April 25th Sicilia Gaia offers a visit to the Gjmala park among dromedaries, giant tortoises, marabou and many other exotic animals. The park can be visited independently during the day. It will be possible to have lunch inside the park from 12.00 to 14.30 with a basket containing chicken wraps, a fruit, a dessert, a fruit juice and a bottle of water, wine and coffee.
Sunday 28 April, coinciding with the long weekend of 25 April and 1 May, new replica for evening visits to the church of San Benedetto. The visit includes an introduction to the fascinating via Crociferi, a baroque pearl of the Val di Noto and the entrance to the Monastery. Here, the remains of the Roman domus found underground will provide food for thought on the history of Catania, before moving on to the visiting room, the only place where, in the past, nuns could meet their relatives.

Sicilia Gaia and Montata Grande organize a Pic Nic on the occasion of the holidays of April 25th and May 1st. Sicilia Gaia organizes a guided tour dedicated to Palazzo Scuderi Libertini Scuderi, the only building in Catania that admirably combines two similar and at the same time different styles: the Renaissance and the Art Nouveau. It was built by Carlo Sada, who arrived in Catania in 1874, becoming the most beloved architect of the Catanese nobility and bourgeoisie. The palace preserves frescoes, stuccoes, gildings, which have remained intact, as well as period tapestries and furnishings.

Friday 26 April third and last appointment of the month of “Musica Sotto il Vulcano” in the company of “Neomodà”, the cover band born in September 2019 from an idea of frontman Carlo Guttá.
