Goes on My Generation, the music festival organized by The Cage and the Florentine Musicus Concentus to put some artists on the launch pad, support live music and bring an increasingly younger audience to it; this Saturday it’s the turn of the Aidagroup of four young Florentines who share a passion for fuzzes and distortions and for sounds alternative-rock and post-punk. Not yet twenty years old, they made their debut at the Controradio Rock Contest and shortly afterwards, in the summer of 2022, they won the RockUnMonte contest and carried out a mini tour of sixteen dates spread across Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and Lombardy. Between 2021 and 2022 they released four singles with Black Candy, a historic Florentine label. The homage in their name to Rino Gaetano and the different influences that mark and characterize each of them, Aida are Samuele Giambalvo (vocals and guitar), Lorenzo Spinelli (lead guitar and backing vocals), Andrea Orlandi (bass and backing vocals) e Andrea Cerrone (drums). The songs of these four friends tell stories of everyday life, born and raised with them over time and without haste. From last December is Frammenti, the first single from the debut album produced by none other than Francesco Maestro Pellegrini of Zen Circus. The album, Under the cobblestones the sea, was produced in the studio between Florence and Milan for ALTI records/Dischi Maestro and is distributed by Visory/Believe: «The name of the album comes from a writing on an abandoned sign during a climate demonstration in 2019 and the author is unknown – explain the four – the hope is that what we tell can influence the imagination of those who don’t know us as that sentence influenced ours”.
