The Agents of the Modica Police Station, in recent days, proceeded to arrest a 47-year-old man resident in Modica in flagrante delicto; the arrest occurred within 48 hours of the last acts committed against the person offended by the crime.

This is a judicial police activity that is part of the timely and targeted implementation of the precautionary measure provided for by the latest legislative innovations.

More specifically, the arrested man committed multiple violations of the ban on approaching and communicating with his ex-wife, stalking her and bombarding her with threats; in one of these incidents, the man attempted to attack her outside her house. In this last episode, the victim, who took refuge at home, managed to request the intervention of the police station’s flying squad agents and the man fled, desisting from the attack; he was found far from the location a few minutes later.

All the activity carried out by the police allowed them to determine with digitally documented certainty the conduct of the forty-seven year old and make the arrest in flagrante delicto. After the formalities, the man was placed under house arrest at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.

The facts narrated are part of a previous criminal proceeding for mistreatment in the family in relation to which today’s arrested person was banned from approaching and communicating with the offended party.

The arrest carried out by the State Police Agents was subsequently validated by the GIP and the suspect subjected to the measure of the obligation to stay in the municipality of residence with a ban on leaving his home in the evening and night hours, this due to the elements of evidence collected against him and of the risk of repetition of specific criminal acts.

Furthermore, he was notified of the provision of Special Public Security Surveillance for one year with obligation to stay issued by the Court of Catania at the request of the Police Commissioner of the province of Ragusa Dr Vincenzo Trombadore, following a specific investigation drawn up by the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters .
