Antonella Clerici at Belve between Sanremo and ‘sugo-gate’

As is now the custom of the program, extensive previews of the key moments of the new episode have been released Beasts, broadcast this evening – Tuesday 23 April – in prime time on Rai 2. The lineup of guests, again all female this week, consists of Lory Del Santo (who also spoke about the loss of her children, from Conor who passed away in 1991 at 5 years old by falling from a skyscraper in Loren, suicide at 19 years old in 2018, passing through the premature baby), Margherita Buy and Antonella Clerici. And it is precisely on the ‘midday lady’ that the social hype is concentrated.

What did Antonella Clerici say to Belve?

Part of the interview granted to Francesca Fagnani in Belve’s studio has already been anticipated (let’s say even scientifically spoilered) by the Rai and Fremantle promotions. We talk about unrecognized merits, about current and future Sanremo, about unconcealed dislikes. All with the usual frankness, sincerity and transparency that distinguishes Clerici, in front of and behind the cameras.

The relationship with Barbara d’Urso

Let’s start with the dislikes: if there is someone that Clerici can’t stand very much in the showbiz environment it is Barbara d’Urso and she also explains, very clearly, the reasons.

“I was in a moment of great success and my ex-partner betrayed me. She opened Afternoon Five by saying: ‘Tomorrow we have Eddy’s lover exclusively’. I found it very unpleasant… I would never have done it to one of my colleagues.”

Rai, the merits and farewell of Amadeus

“Sometimes it was right that in Rai they said ‘Gee thanks, you were fantastic’. A pat on the back would be enough and I suffered for this.”

Clerici replied to Fagnani who insisted on the company’s ingratitude for a professional who accepted many challenges, most of the time impossible. On Amadeus’ farewell, Antonella responds without much hesitation: “I found him very courageous.”

Sanremo and the ‘sugo-gate’

Fagnani also asks if a proposal for the hosting of Sanremo 2025 has officially arrived.

“No one has ever asked me to host the next Sanremo, ever. If I’m sorry they didn’t do it? It’s a bit part of our Rai world… then maybe I’d say no. I have my plans and I have my things, I don’t give a damn… worse for them”

and we imagine a crystalline laugh from hers.

The solution to the so-called ‘sugo-gate’ also arrives, i.e. the revelation of the name of those who refused to participate in her Sanremo because Clerici “tastes too much like sauce”. At least the name is not spoiled beforehand, but there is Clerici’s comment:

“They told me. If it’s not true, I apologize, but if it’s true, I expect your apologies.”

We’ll talk about it again this evening.
