Brescia, the milk producers coop has exceeded 22 million litres

Brescia. Another positive year for the Milk Producers cooperative of the Municipality of Brescia, led by president Roberto Frattini. For the year 2023 the remuneration for milk to members was 56.76 cents per litre, plus legal VAT. The members conferred more than 22 million liters of milk (to be precise 22,065,394), of which 58 percent were placed in member cooperatives and the remaining 42 percent in industry, with an increase compared to the previous year of approximately 5,700 liters.
The budget data are also positive, with the value of production standing at a very similar level to that of last year, stopping just under 12 and a half million euros (i.e. 12,468,951 in 2023, while in 2022 they were 12,752 .250 million).
All this – we read in a note – despite the difficulties dictated, mainly, by the instability of the international scene, due in particular to the continuation of the war between Russia and Ukraine, which caused heavy repercussions from the point of view of the cost of raw materials, of technical means, fuels, fertilizers, cereals and more.
“I want to immediately underline that price levels are slowly moving towards 2021 values, given that the year 2022 was an exceptional year for prices – began President Frattini -. The clear fact is that, even in 2023, the Brescia cooperation has clearly paid better than the industry, confirming the positivity of the choice made in the past. The valorisation of the milk was possible thanks above all to the excellent performance of the Grana Padano Dop, due in particular to the excellent management policies of the consortium. Results which, according to the data from the first four months of 2024, suggest another positive period for this year too. We are more than confident that 2024 will also give the same results, if not better, than 2023.”
The members’ meeting took place at Nuovo Nando in the city on Tuesday eveningand it was the opportunity, as per tradition, to award the prize to the member who obtained the best milk quality parameters in 2023, namely Giampaolo Giugno at the Giugno Fratelli farm in Rodengo Saiano.
