“Between 2020 and 2022, Campania lost 500 beds, placing it last in Italy. Another ‘success’ for which the citizens can only thank governor De Luca”. This was declared in a note by Campania MP Imma Vietri, group leader of FdI at the Social Affairs and Health Commission, commenting on the report drawn up by 75 scientific societies which, in the last few hours, was relaunched by the president of the Medical Association of Naples. “This data – which also coincides with the period in which the governor’s party (the Democratic Party) was in the Government of Italy – is yet another example of the failure of Deluch’s management of healthcare. For years now, the people of Campania have had to deal with a dramatic reality: shortage of staff due to the block on turnover which has lasted for nine years, insufficient beds in the departments, queues of ambulances in front of the emergency rooms, doctors fleeing towards the facilities private healthcare or public healthcare in other regions.

This last critical issue is also confirmed by the results of a questionnaire from the Anaao (National Association of Hospital Assistant Helpers), which shows that 72 percent of medical employees are ready to abandon their jobs. Not only. Local healthcare is also in crisis: according to data provided by the Ministry of Health, referring to 2022, the maximum of 1,500 patients is exceeded by almost 60 percent of family doctors in Campania (58.4%) with inevitable repercussions on ‘user. A truly alarming picture which highlights how the healthcare sector has been literally brought to its knees by those who, like De Luca, continue to try to shift the blame onto someone else, without ever assuming their own responsibilities. His slogan was: ‘Never again last’. The people of Campania do not forget it” concludes Vietri.
