DSV Road Italy and Volvo Trucks Italia test electric trucks in Milan

Dsv Road Italythe Italian division of the Danish group DSV, has concluded an experimentation phase on battery electric vehicles (BEV) from Volvo Trucks Italia. The tests are aimed at the inclusion of over 2,000 electric trucks in the DSV fleet by 2030, with the aim of promoting sustainable transport in urban areas. In particular, electric trucks should be aimed at distribution activities in the area of Milan.
In addition to evaluating their performance in terms of reliability and transport efficiency, the tests also analyzed the advantages that the vehicles can bring in terms of environmental impact. According to the results reported by DSV, the use of BEVs guarantees a 50% reduction in CO2, perfectly in line with the objectives set by the Group. The Volvo team supported and supported the Italian branch of the Northern European company throughout the entire process, providing advice and technical information relating to the vehicles tested.

The next step of the DSV Road division involves the implementation of over 300 BEVs between 2024 and 2025until reaching 2,000 units by 2030. A further objective is to introduce other low and zero emission vehicles as well as the vehicles they use HVO fuel.
