The conference ‘Emergency: the need for the reorganization of territorial emergency services in the province of Latina’ took place at the ‘Luigi Pistilli’ municipal theater in Cori. A well-attended meeting, which obviously attracted the attention of operators and citizens on issues that affect everyone personally.
Numerous interventions by political representatives, civic committees, health workers from different areas of the province: from Priverno to Latina, from Minturno to Cori, from Cisterna to Sezze to the southern Pontine area. Shortage of healthcare personnel, decrease in beds over the years, clogging of the emergency rooms in the Pontine area but also in Rome, consequences of the transition from PPI to PAT and the need for these facilities to be open 24 hours a day, some of the issues addressed and collected by the institutional representatives present.
“I thank Dr. Rossella Carucci – says the mayor of Cori, Mauro Primio De Lillis – who, as vice-president of the SIS, the Italian company of the 118 system, with the Civic Committee of Cori, has given life, together with us, to a moment of reflection and in-depth analysis on a crucial topic such as healthcare.
To save a life, as the president of the SIS, Professor Mario Balzanelli, well underlined, there are two determining factors: time and the training of operators.
The Municipality of Cori – underlines the mayor – will make its own the technical-scientific proposal developed by the SIS for the reintroduction of first aid measures in the territories, supporting it in all appropriate forums.
Finally, I thank the regional, municipal and ASL institutions present, the Medical Association of Latina, as they contributed even more to enriching the meeting”.
