The head doctor of the urology department of the Santissima Trinità hospital in Cagliari, Antonello De Lisa, was arrested by the police and is now under house arrest. The 64-year-old would have carried out intra moenia services in an outpatient department of the hospital where he worked, but without then paying the health company the amount required by law.
Very well known not only in Sardinia, the doctor and teacher is accused of embezzlement and fraud. The investigations started two months ago by the Carabinieri of the Nas of Cagliari. The first provision from the investigating judge arrived after some searches in the doctor’s offices, at the request of prosecutor Nicola Giua Marassi who coordinates the investigations.
This led to the suspension of the head physician, who continued to teach in recent weeks until he was placed under house arrest.
