On 20 April, a coordinated operation involved the local law enforcement agencies of Latina, including the Carabinieri, Police and Guardia di Finanza, with the support of the Labor Inspectorate Unit and the Forestry Carabinieri Group. The action, which began at 8pm, focused on safety and compliance with current regulations.
Feedback and referrals
During the checks, several violations were discovered which led to the referral of various people:
- A citizen of Latina born in 1954, linked to an agricultural company, was found guilty of having illegally deposited special waste on land he owned.
- A woman, born in Aprilia in 1974, as sole administrator and manager of a restaurant, was reported for not having drawn up the necessary risk assessment document.
- A young man from Sermoneta, born in 2004, was found in possession of a 13 cm long switchblade.
- A man, born in 1984 in Latina, was identified in a state of alteration due to drug use after a road accident.
Finally, an individual born in 1969, still residing in Latina, was discovered in possession of a falsified driving licence.
Fines and seizures
Other irregularities were also discovered during the operation, including violations related to undeclared labor. In particular, three people were found working illegally, and consequently, the business in which they operated was suspended. The administrative sanctions imposed amount to 15,800 euros, with additional fines amounting to 2,278.14 euros.
Narcotic substances and reports
Five individuals were reported to the Prefecture for drug use, with the total seizure of 13 grams of hashish and 8 grams of cocaine.
Road control and fishing
The operation also included the checking of 17 vehicles and 30 people, with the withdrawal of a registration document and the seizure of four vehicles. Seven violations of the highway code were also reported, for a total fine of 4,371 euros, and a specific violation relating to night fishing.
