NewTuscia – VITERBO – Sebastian Matta, Picasso, Schifano, Angeli, Festa, Pateresi, Vincenti, Ludovisi, Turcato, Talotta, Mascagna, Demas these are just some of the forty-eight artists who will exhibit at Palazzo degli Alessandri from April 26th to May 12th. Each artist will present a single work as testimony to their decisive role in the beginnings and development of contemporary art.
The initiative, curated by Gianmarco Merlanipresident of the Tusciart Italia events Associationis sponsored by the Presidency of the Province of Viterbo.
I asked the organizer how this idea was born: “For some time, my family and I have been in the art sector, organizing exhibitions and events in the Chigi Gallery and in public spaces, mostly trying to promote and enhance talented artists from our territory. On this occasion, however, I wanted to pay homage to some of the artists who collaborated with it during the gallery’s twenty years of activity by exhibiting their works.
I also accepted the request – he adds Merlani – of a collector from Viterbo who confided in me his desire to share with art enthusiasts the emotions aroused by the sight of some works he owns created by great painters of the 20th century.
Hence the idea of this exhibition for which I publicly thank the collector which will allow for 15 consecutive days to admire excellent works not easily visible in museums.
On the occasion of theinaugurationdue to Friday 26 April at 6.30pm, I will also present a series of projects that the Gallery will undertake during the year, always with the aim of enhancing the excellence of our territory in the field of visual arts. We are always ready to start new initiatives.”
“Are there any other cultural proposals for the next few months that you would like us to anticipate?
Certainly, again at Palazzo degli Alessandri there will be a solo show by the maestro next May Sandro Trotti.
