Vittoria, councilor Siggia: “No to the increase in the Tari”

“I voted against the increase in the Tari to 8.25%. It is not possible that the municipal administration, instead of harassing citizens who have always paid, does not have the courage to take serious measures against those who do not differentiate correctly”.

This is supported by the municipal councilor of Italia Viva Vittoria, Sara Siggia (in the photo), who criticizes the modus operandi of the Aiello council. “A few cannot pay for the sins of all those who – Siggia continues – abandon waste indiscriminately. We understand that just 25% of the population pays taxes. It is not admissible. This is why we are launching a series of proposals.” Which? “In the meantime – continues Siggia – as we clarified during the electoral campaign, we need to encourage rewards but modern and cutting-edge means are needed for collection, as happens in other regions of Italy. Then, let’s say that we need to review the collection system because simple door-to-door collection is no longer enough when the edges of secondary roads are full of waste that will end up being burned with obvious damage to health. The fact that in the Budget Committee the council’s proposal passed with the favorable votes of some city councilors, even those who, until today, had abstained in some acts, such as Artini and Romano, says a lot about a certain political coherence. Also because, to be honest, when you increase the Tari you can no longer go back, the following year or after a few years. Therefore the burden falls on the shoulders of a community already in difficulty due to a whole series of negative economic circumstances”.
