On 30 April and 1 May in the church square there will be various entertainment and performances together with a rich food and wine stand. Grand finale with the comedian Uccio De Santis and “Rock Sotto Assedio”. Proceeds destined for the upcoming works on the oratory.

The “Patronal Feast of San Giuseppe the Worker” returns to Latina Scalo with important confirmations and interesting news. The parish committee organized two intense days full of activities and entertainment in the church square, involving associations, dance schools, gyms and sports clubs in the area. Naturally, the presence of the food stand is inevitable, set up by the tireless members of the committee and enriched with various delicacies. The proceeds from the festival, and in particular from the lottery, will be used to finance the upcoming renovation works of the oratory, destined to become an important structure serving the residents. The Parish Priest, Don Nello Zimbardi, focused on this aspect: “Every year I commit myself, and I ask many to do so, in organizing this tiring and complex event. And I tell you that, perhaps, I’m not even that good at it, because you either have certain gifts or nothing. But I am with you and I would like you to be with me, because this celebration can also be a great community event where we feel accompanied by each other. Thanks to those who will be with us and to those who will help us realize our projects.”

The program

Let’s start Tuesday 30 April at 6pm with the Holy Mass, officiated by the deputy parish priest Don Thomas Shinu. Following there will be a performance by the “Me Lab” gym and a Cuban dance show by the “Elaine Cantillo” School. At the same time, the food stand will be open and table service, among other things, will be ensured by the “Special Waiters” of the “Mirability” Cooperative: a confirmation of the great emphasis given every year to social issues and inclusion. The same kids will be the protagonists of a Zumba show to showcase one of their many activities. At 9pm an evening of music not to be missed will begin, in the name of an exclusive format that is very successful at a national level: “Let’s relive the 90s” will be staged, a Special Party with DJs, vocalists, dancers, mascots, special effects and many gadgets to relive the best hits of an unforgettable musical decade.

Wednesday May 1st the program will be even richer and will begin at 9 in the morning with a performance by the Asd Latina Scalo Volley followed by minivolley tournaments and competitions for under 12s and under 13s. Registrations will start immediately afterwards for the traditional bicycle ride and curated exhibitions of some local artisans. Worth highlighting is the 10am Holy Mass, which will culminate with the blessing of the participants. After lunch, available by reservation only, we will start again in the afternoon with a movement and dance show by the “Raffaella Di Vincenzo” school and followed by performances by “Magia Dance” and the “The Champion” gym. Great anticipation at 6pm for the solemn Mass and the Procession along the streets of Latina Scalo, accompanied by the notes of the “Rossini” Band. The grand finale in the evening, first with the show of Uccio De Santis, the well-known Apulian comedian who is very popular on social media, and then with the emotions guaranteed by “Rock Sotto Assedio”, the Vasco Rossi tribute band capable of involving and fascinating everyone with the masterpieces of Zocca’s rocker. The party will end at 11.30pm with the drawing of the lottery prizes, which as always are very rich thanks to the precious support of many sponsors.
