Perugia1416, Angelica Moriconi is the first lady of Porta Eburnea

PERUGIA – Angelica Moriconi is the new first lady of the Magnificent district of Porta Eburnea, who will parade in the historical procession for the ninth edition of Perugia1416, the historical reenactment scheduled in the acropolis from 14 to 16 June 2024. The 36-year-old from Perugia is married and is a teacher at the Borgo XX Giugno nursery school in Perugia. Her election took place on Sunday 21 April at the headquarters of the Perugia1416 Aps association.

“I am very happy to have been elected,” declares Angelica Moriconi. “The role of first lady is highly coveted by all of us – goes on – and I have always wanted to be elected one day. In recent years I have always taken part in the processions, parades and life of Porta Eburnea. I hope to best represent the district, the student spirit, the serenity and liveliness of all its participants. I have always enjoyed being an active part of this event – concludes Moriconi –I’m passionate about it.”

“With this first event – explains Stefano Cascianelliconsul of the Magnificent District of Porta Eburnea – we are entering the heart of the organization of the Palio 2024. As a district we have chosen to bring forward the elections of the First Lady to concentrate our forces for the event. After two years the new lady Angelica Moriconi was re-elected and we would like to thank her very much for her commitment to Francesca Galassithe outgoing lady”. This it was the first election of the season which officially opens the 2024 edition of Perugia1416.

Last Saturday, meanwhile, in the splendid Church of San Severo in Piazza Raffaello in Porta Sole in Perugiaexceptionally open to the public by the OESSG (Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem – Umbria section, Perugia delegation), a touching concert by the Choir was held Le Cantarine di Porta Sole directed by Claudia Puletti and accompanied on the psaltery and then on the horn by Maestro Vladimiro Vagnetti. The program includes music from the 14th and 15th centuries “Laudemus Virginem” And “Splendens Ceptigera”, taken from the famous Llibre Vermell. The concert was organized by Magnificent Porta Sole district which, together with the presentation of the church frescoes by the OESSG commander Carlo Bastioni, represented an excellent synthesis of culture and community.
