On Friday 10 May 2014 at 4.00 pm the Sala Bottiglieri at the Palazzo della Provincia di Salerno will host the event “Dante and Music“, under the artistic direction of Soprano Maria Pia Garofalo, teacher and director of the Cilento in Opera Festival.
The event enjoys the patronage and collaboration of prestigious bodies including the University of Salerno, the Dante Alighieri Society of Salerno, the Province of Salerno, and the IIS “T. Confalonieri” of Campagna (SA).
An afternoon dedicated to the great poet, with speeches by Professor Alberto Granese of the University of Salerno, the Headmaster of the Confalonieri Institute of Campagna, and Professor Pina Basile, Knight of the Italian Republic and president of the Dante Alighieri Society of Salerno.
The musical interventions will be entrusted to the team of teachers and students of the Confalonieri di Campagna institute under the guidance of the contact Maestro, Professor Luciano Marchetta. During the event, Professor Basile will present the “DANTE” medal to the director Maria Pia Garofalo, while the Cilento in Opera Festival will award the Lifetime Achievement Award to: Alberto Granese, Luciano Marchetta, Daniele Gibboni, Giampiero Cerone and Pina Basile.
The prizes will be created by the Corals Waves company of Torre del Greco, by Maestro Cristiano Cataldo, renewing the art of coral, a World Heritage Site.
