C2 M – Mission accomplished: Real Foligno C5 wins promotion to C1

FOLIGNO (by Cristian Gatti) – The C2 Umbrian futsal championship comes to an end with the victory of Foligno at Palapaternesi against Balanzano 10-2, a result that gives the triumph in the championship and
promotion to Serie C1 for Mirko Pagnottini’s boys. Another dominant performance for the Foligno team who leave no escape for Balanzano: in the first half Caldarelli’s hat-trick, one of which was a direct free kick, Fiore’s goal and Rhoulami’s pearl, intoxicating dribbling and sharp right-footed shot to beat the goalkeeper, lead the result was 5-2 for the hosts.

For Balanzano the two goals scored by Tomassoni in the first half were not enough as in the second half Foligno took off creating many scoring opportunities. The Caldarelli-Rhoulami-Fiore trio were very inspired, they looked for each other and got along very well, the first two added a goal to the scoreboard while Fiore scored the hat-trick. Sorbelli also joins the party at the end to close the ball and definitively give the championship to Foligno.

Final result reads 10-2, the ranking at the end of the season sees Real Foligno in the lead with 50 points with the chasing Rivo four points behind, Foligno is also the team that records the best attack with 117 goals scored and the second best defense with 52 goals conceded (Torgiano first with 50). Another certainly positive note of the Foligno season is that of being able to celebrate the top scorer of the season, Pasquale Fiore with 29 goals but not only that: in fact Rhoulami (25) and Caldarelli (23) also managed to exceed the 20 goal mark, with Sorbelli tagging along also managing to exceed double figures (15).

At the end of the match, coach Mirko Pagnottini tried to summarize the emotions that accompanied this success and give credit to his players for the great ride with these statements: “After this great success I feel very good. We were aware of our strength, we knew we could do well and we amply demonstrated it. Beating the favorites is priceless. The team was crazy and these guys deserve this success more than anyone. I feel like saying that it is a more than deserved achievement. I would like to conclude by saying that the wind takes away gossip, for me it is the fourth in my short career and I dedicate this to those who speak ill of me.”

The company is enjoying this first great success five years after its foundation, remaining focused and already thinking about the projects that will accompany the next season in the higher division.
