On the night of April 19th Novara State Police, specifically a crew of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, during the territorial control service, surprised a man subjected to house arrest outside the house. At first the same person, who benefits from an hourly permit during certain daily time slots, justified it of being late for work reasons and that he had already made the necessary communications, so the police, considering that he was in work clothes, let him go home.
After about two hours, however, another Volante crew surprised him again in the car driving around the city. A high-speed chase through the city streets ensued, at the end of which the man managed to disappear. The following evening, after having unsuccessfully searched for him in the morning in the house, the man was arrested for escape, a crime for which it is possible to proceed with arrest even outside of flagrant cases. The hearing took place yesterday during which the arrest was validated by the Judicial Authority.
