Tuesday 23 April will be held the inauguration of the school library of the institute Morigia in via Marconi 6, in Ravenna and, to follow, a rich calendar of initiatives open to the public.

The event is open to all and will take place according to the following program:

– 2.00 pm inauguration of the library with greetings from the authorities present, the school director, the architect Fabrizio Fontana, the library representative and the students;

– 2.30pm – 5.00pm literary and photographic buffet (this is food for the mind, not actual food)

– 3pm-4pm Storytelling workshop held by prof. Di Meo

– 3-4pm board games with the prof. Flour

– 2.30pm – 5.00pm window art and post-it art with the students

– 4-5pm Myteca Morigia reading group with start of sharing the book Fried green tomatoes at the train stop

– 2.30pm-5.00pm baby club organized by students

Furthermore, from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm, you will be able to “purchase” the bookmarks created by 5°A GRAFICA. The proceeds will be dedicated to stocking the library with books, board games and various materials.

The referring teacher, Professor Livia Santini, says that it is a widespread library that makes use of the spaces already present in the school such as the atrium, corridors and bar area and that the project was donated to the school by the architect Fabrizio Fontana. The welcoming and colorful environment highlights the freedom of approach to the texts present, being in passage areas and normally used by students to stop and meet during breaks. In this way, the library acts as a hinge between the school entrance and the internal garden, the right setting for any future enhancement.

Furthermore, the teacher is keen to underline the collaborative and fundamental role that the Classense library has played thanks to the librarians Nicoletta Bacco, Luca Mandorlini and Silvia Travaglini and adds that “our students have been and will be the main driving force of the library. We have listened to their requests and suggestions which we are promptly implementing. Also for this reason, we would like to purchase texts and objects that we hope to purchase with the donations that will be received during the inauguration. For the occasion, the 5A graphics class has produced a series of original bookmarks which will be donated to those who leave a small voluntary contribution.”

Even the activities on the afternoon of April 23, a date chosen not by chance but because it represents World Book Day, were designed by the students with the supervision of the teachers Farina, Di Meo and Silvestro.

The creation of the library was possible thanks to PNRR funds and the fittings of the Legno Primitivo carpentry of Marradi.

The main purpose of the new environments is to promote the creation of aggregation spaces in the educational community, such as conferences, small workshops, reading and writing groups for students.
