TERAMO. The revolution in waste collection and pricing in the municipality of Teramo begins with the information campaign. More than a revolution, it is an evolution towards a virtuous model of ecological transition indicated by Europe and which has two objectives: reducing undifferentiated waste and reducing costs for citizens and the institution.
The evolution translates into a new waste tax pricing method that changes the paradigm and rewards, in terms of savings, those who differentiate best. The less unsorted waste you produce, the less you pay. It is called Tarip, a punctual tariff, and from January 2025 it will replace the Tari. How this transition will take place and the benefits it will provide were at the center of a press conference that took place yesterday morning at the Science Park. The Municipality and the Team illustrated the news, recalling the important results already achieved in the last three years by Teramo on separate waste collection. The capital of Apruzzo is at 72%, first in Abruzzo. As the first, it results in the start of the path towards Tarip, made possible thanks to Pnrr funds, around one million euros, intercepted by the Team.
The new tariff will contain: a fixed part, based on the surface area of the home and which includes the provincial surcharge; a “calculated” variable, i.e. given by the waste produced by each user and the number of members of the family unit; and finally by a “measured” variable which is applied only when more unsorted waste is delivered than that foreseen in the “calculated” quota. In practice: the Tarip bill will be heavier if you produce more undifferentiated products. The new system, as illustrated by the Team coordinator Tari Pasquale La Torre, will leverage the change of tubs intended for this type of waste: their distribution will begin in a few months and for domestic users they will have a capacity of 35 litres, for non-domestic users from 120 to 360 litres. The new gray tubs will be equipped with a technological system that will allow the collector, equipped with a palmtop, to assign each container to the user it belongs to. There is also news for the collection of nappies and nappies, with the provision of special tubs whose emptying number will not be added to the tariff as for undifferentiated waste.
The president of the Team Sergio Saccomandi and the mayor Gianguido D’Alberto they explained how the process now officially starts, gradually, to enter the system within a year. The engineer Pierandrea Giosuètechnical director of Team, underlined how in environmental and economic terms residual urban waste represents a threat «which has an answer in the punctual tariff», he said, illustrating the benefits of the new one: implementation of separate waste collection, reduction of disposal costs, greater equality among users in sampling, more control of the territory.
