The Pro Loco of Acireale is IAT, a tourist office recognized by the Sicilian Region

The infopoint and recreational-cultural center of the Pro Loco Acireale APS which opened its doors on 27 July 2023, in via Vittorio Emanuele II n. 133 in Acireale (CT) – financed with PSR 2014-2020 funds, submeasure 19.2/7.5 of the Gal Terre di Aci – received the official recognition of the Sicilian Region of IAT Tourist Information and Reception Office, aimed at informing and welcoming visitors, journalists and other professionals, but also in the management of services – aimed at users, as well as businesses in the tourism and cultural sector – created to improve the quality of hospitality.
The Pro Loco Acese – just 6 years after its foundation – thus enters full maturity and full capacity in the activity of promoting the territory, the material heritage and, above all, the intangible and experiential one; the SCU operators, Universal Civil Service, in service – whose number will double in the year 2025 – and the volunteers, not to mention that agreements in this sense are being defined with other bodies, schools and universities, allow opening from Tuesday to Sunday of the IAT, in fact the only tourist information center to be open in Acireale on the weekend; furthermore, the pro loco brand known throughout the nation and the affiliation to UNPLI, the National Pro Loco Union of Italy, guarantee guaranteed and continuous promotion for Acireale and for events throughout the hinterland, through the Acireale pro loco outside the provincial and regional borders, enjoying direct connections with over 6,200 pro loco throughout Italy, in turn managers of tourist information offices, and direct contacts with the Regional Tourist Offices, primarily in Sicily and then in the other regions Italian, without counting the relations with the assembly bodies of the Sicilian Region. The tourist information promoted by the pro loco also extends to the electronic world and new media, with the “Discover Acireale” project which consists of a dedicated portal already online, and a mobile app currently being published: on these official platforms, the only recognized, used and promoted by the Acese body – in addition to the regional media, or at www.prolocoacireale.it which will now be reserved for both members and official communications of the ETS, and dedicated social channels – the local and the tourist will be always informed, even beyond the opening hours of the IAT, on what to see and do in the city and its surroundings.
