«No more fur» Gazzetta di Reggio

Reggio Emilia New animal rights demonstration, this time in the heart of the historic center. Activists from the Ludovica Collective have joined the Animal Defense League demonstrating in front at the Max Mara windows, in via Emilia San Pietro, «to ask the group for the definitive cessation of a useless, painful and unjust practice. It doesn’t take much: the Max Mara group still sells fur garments, which represent a small part of their turnover, but which cost the animals their entire lives – say the activists -. A small change can have a huge impact.”

Reggio Emilia has a symbolic role in this battle, as explained by the protesters: «The group’s headquarters is located in Reggio Emilia and as a reality of the territory, Collettivo Ludovica cannot remain silent». For this reason, the activists invited citizens to gather in front of the Max Mara store, in the heart of the city, to send a clear message: “No more fur”.

The protest was also repeated on Sunday 21 April. At 11am a group of activists interrupted a guided tour of the “Collezione Maramotti” art gallery.

This is not the first attack against the company for its choice to sell garments that include fur. In recent weeks, animal rights activists from the LAV associations, Humane Society International and members of the Fur Free Alliance, flew over the headquarters of the fashion house in Mancasale on board a hot air balloon. The protest was organized during Milan Fashion Week.
